Of course, this means there'll never be a definitive answer to this question
You could do a world cup of snakes, start with lots of polls then put the winners together in another poll........

Perhaps start out with divisions based on families (pythons, boas, elapids, vipers, Old world colubrids, New world colubrids, etc.) or geographical distribution.

SnakeBytes TV actually did a whole slew of episodes with that sort of thing... like brackets of snakes and people would vote which was their favorite, etc. until there were 2 and a winner was chosen. But it would be awesome to do it here too!!

As per the poll, I can't choose... I really am REALLY partial to ball pythons in every way, and they're not an option. But if I had to choose, I'd say the golden eyelash viper

Re: World's most beautiful snake?

Love this idea! We really should do the World Cup of Snakes like Rob said. With divisions based on type. Then in the end, when we have winners of each division put each division winner against each other for the overall title.

Other people will probably know a lot more about snakes than me, so you guys could probably start putting that one together eh... make sure albino burmese python is on the list, what a beautiful animal/ morph.

Re: World's most beautiful snake?

I think we should have a separate category exclusively for morphs and mutations, since so many snakes are beautiful in their natural phenotype.

Re: World's most beautiful snake?

Venomous snakes look well represented in this poll,

there l've cheated and given 2

Honestly I think Wagler's temple viper, Ethiopian mountain adder, and Levantine viper are some of the prettiest snakes I've ever seen. Mangshan vipers are also absolutely unreal.

Re: World's most beautiful snake?

I added the Carpet Pythons, Seems unfair to ask this question on this forum and not include Carpets in the poll.

Personally, My pick would likely have never made this poll anway, even if there were 100 choices.

After seeing Kim's Wetar Pitviper, I think this is number 1 in my book.

Re: World's most beautiful snake?

Diamond Pythons are by far the most beautiful snakes in the world hands down.

Re: World's most beautiful snake?

Thanks Exwizard- they are one of my favorites as well! :-) And the fact that they are *usually* so docile and laid-back makes them even better.
