Re: Finaly!!!
Well I cut a small hole in the other egg about the same as the pipped hole from the emerging snake. Nobody coming out yet.
How long will these guys use the egg as a hide? My first hatchling went back into the egg last night. Been 24 hrs and he hasn't fully emerged??

Re: Finaly!!!
Beautiful little guys! Gotta keep the kids at bay if you can until these guys are eating well. If they're handled too much as baby snakes, it can really impact their progress, so I strongly recommend keeping the handling to an only as absolutely necessary basis until they've proven that they'll eat a few times for you. I've seen how handling hatchlings can cause serious issues for them too many times and I'd hate to see your little ones become another statistic

Re: Finaly!!!
Yup. Haven't touched them. I was going to put the one in a small tub last night but didn't want to touch him to soon. Got up this morning and he was gone. He crawled out one of the tiny air holes in the incubator. Kids are upset. Should have just done it last night. Took the day off work to find him. I can't believe he fit out the tiny hole in this thing. Oh well the search is on. I will find him.

Re: Finaly!!!
Whew!! Found him. He was only about 10 ft from where the incubator was.
What a fireball. He was easy to get out of the wood he was wrapped up on. He bit the end of my finger and constricted it. I am shocked he has this much pull and pinch at 2 days old.
I put him in a small tub and even at 5 ft away he still struck the side of the tub few times.
Yup he/she is a total nutcase..... love it!!

Re: Finaly!!!
Lol I figured I would leave them in the incubator a couple days until they became a bit more active. I had no idea he could squeeze through such a tiny hole. So glad I found him. You should see the mess I made looking the 2nd little guy is still in the egg but moving his head around. His egg was not near as plump and the first one so I assume he needs to soak up a bit more yoke before he comes out.
We are tossing names around. Alpha and Beta are winning so far seeing as they are 1 and 2 for us and non gender specific. Anyone got other ideas?

Re: Finaly!!!
Thanks all. I felt like a kid on my way home from work yesterday. Ran right down to go see them. Both were in their little hides. One came out before I went to bed and climbed on the branch in its tub. So tiny and just a joy to watch. So glad we did this.
