Re: Got my first dubias
Is now a good time to mention that I use to catch crickets solely for the purpose of eating them?

Re: Got my first dubias
okay, yucky yucky no i won't be trying these myself *lol*
Alright, here's a pic of their set up. They're in there...point if you can see some! They're small and all hiding.
Humidity, and heat are all good. They were growing fast! And then day before yesterday hubby put water in there for them....all over...uhm, that's why i have the water Crystals. lol a few died and drowned. i had to clean up...and it stunk! ugh. actually i made him do most of the cleaning because i had a migraine, but the majority survived.
Just a quick question...how do they breed? I mean, am i going to notice something?

Re: Got my first dubias
Oh well! A female lays her eggs and then sucks them back in to her. She will give a live birth to around 30 babies! You will notice

Re: Got my first dubias
I actually found dubias to be delicious, they taste like pork, except crunchier, and they try to run out of your mouth...
Also ive found that what you feed them has a direct impact on flavour, my friend feed mostly apples, so the first few dubias i ate tasted like pork and applesauce. One time though i had the privilege of eating one that had been fed mostly banannas...... wont be doing that again
