Re: Cats/Dogs and your snakes...

My cat doesn't seem to care much, my dogs watch VERY intently when I have one of the snakes out!!

Re: Cats/Dogs and your snakes...

I have two cats... Tish doesn't care about anything; she doesn't have a predatory bone in her body. But my other cat, Vodka, would probably love to "play" with my snakes haha. Needless to say, I've let Vodka smell them, but get nowhere near them with her paws or anything like that.

Re: Cats/Dogs and your snakes...

I reposted an old thread that my wife wrote. I thought it was pretty funny.

Re: Cats/Dogs and your snakes...

our cats will sit and watch the snakes through the glass but we throw them out of the house during feeding and handling time. They are both prolific hunters and would have no issue whatsoever taking on any of our snakes, it just isnt worth the risk.

Re: Cats/Dogs and your snakes...

Already posted on another thread about this but I will put it here too.

Came across my lost hoggie this morning...
The cat must have found it during the night
Not a pretty site, I am pretty upset about it. My cat always sits and watches the snakes but never goes near when they were out. Not that I ever trusted the cat with the snakes but this morning was another reminder that cats/dogs and snakes do not mix

Please understand I do not want anyone to go through what I did this morning.

KEEP CATS AND DOGS AWAY FROM SNAKES AT ALL TIMES PLEASE!!!

Sorry to hear!

Hopefully now that we have a snake, my roommate will close the door every time she leaves the room. My goal for the next week (besides studying for finals) is to find a better place for the tank. Right now it's temporarily on the floor.

The good thing is Rambo is a scaredy cat and doesn't like getting in trouble. Soon he'll probably forget Penelope even exists. But I got the screen top secured with clamps and textbooks, so I'm not too worried.
