Re: Can she hurt herself?
She's not going to be doing this after she eats, right? Then I'd really worry...

Re: Can she hurt herself?
I had a big female corn who always did that. measured 5'2 and you'd hear quite a "thump" when she fell. I don't think it really hurts them from that height since they keep doing it over and over and over again lol

my snake(who seems much more reclusive than yours) only does this when he's hungry, so only a day or two hes trying to escape, and the rest of the week i never see him(but i see his "presents" he leaves me, so its probably just bad timing on my part lol)

My housemate's cat has been sitting in front her tank for like the last 2 hours. Maybe she wants to eat him haha. jk
I'm feeding her for the first time tonight, so we will see if she keeps doing it after she eats

Go outside...find a branch...bring it in...rinse it off...Ta daaa Nice new FREE climbing branch!!
That way you can pick the exact size for your tank. Just stay away prom pine, cedar and anything that has a really strong odor.

If you want to go outside and get your decor that is fine but you should either soak it in a bleach and water solution for a few hours then let it dry out for a few days or you should bake it in the oven at 250*( I think that is the recommended temp?)for a few hours. This will kill anything that can harm your snake.

You are more than welcome to do this if you wish...I for one have never done this with any of my outside decor. Reasons being....
1. I don't trust bleach. It is a strong chemical that I feel has no place around my animals. just not worth the risk to me.
2. What is outside that si going to harm your animals? If you get your branches from somewhere that is not sprayed with pesticide/herbicide, there is nothing natural in North America that will do harm. Even if there was some type of herb/pesticide on it, bleach is not going to get ride of it anymore than a good rinse with water.
If something seems really really dirty to me, I spray with a bit of white vinegar and rinse with boiling water. Nothing can live through boiling water.
This is my opinion, feel free to make your own choice. All of my cages are decorated with stuff I found in my backyard and I have never every had any problems with anything (which i still don't know what could) hurting my animals.

i hate to "hijack" the thread, but you should really keep the cat away from the room the snake is in.

I have been. If he's here, it's only with supervision. But he got the hint already.
