Re: How about some jags?
I've seen that Jag before, its just nuts! I really like bredli diamond crosses to be honest, they actually mesh really nicely. I'm hoping to breed Sync to Purity some day and get something of a similar result to what I've seen in bredli diamonds. I never became a member of the Ozzy forums, I always used moreliapythons.com. ROlf has some amazing stuff, his red coastal jags are insane!! ~Caylan.s.~

Re: How about some jags?
Yasser has some sweet stuff, no doubt about that! Precision snakes are great, we've had a few of them at work, including a stunning male DJJ. They definately know what they're doing over there thats for sure! I would love to import a german blood jungle through Don Patterson sometime!
Jeff doesn't have a website(well he does but its now been a year since updates) but he's online a lot and regularly checks emails, and seems to love talking carpets lol. Just google Jeff Favelle and it comes up right away, and I will pm you his email address just incase.
My new goal for morelia is going to be importing a rough scaled from somewhere, now that I've seen Paul has them, it should be near enough in the future. Boelens would also be a sweet morelia to own someday! But again, I'm really shooting for leiopython, so I might just save for that oppurtunity again instead of anything, we'll see!

Re: How about some jags?
a guy in norway sells black phase white lips at a reasonable price mate
olli has some beautifull neon looking diamond jungle jags
the german bloodline hatchlings seem to sell before they've even hatched
roughies imo will be crazy prices the first few years, but they are very easy to breed,so imo the price will drop fast.also once LEGAL hatchlingsa start showing up,i think there will be lots of ILLEGAL ones flooding the market, which should help drop the price.have you seen the length of the teeth on roughies theyre huge
terry philps of the reptile garden in the usa, bred roughies last year or the year before.it may be easier for you to aquire some from terry ?
cheers shaun

Re: How about some jags?
Roughies are great, unbelievable to hold and quite a strange sensation. Quite eerie sometimes they way they "eyeball" you.
You don't have to worry bout their teeth their bloody daft little things lol.
I'm actually torn between Black and White (RP) cheynei, albino variegata or carinata as my next aquisition as I'm out of room but want a display animal.
If the same trend holds as it did price wise here, your looking at about 7-10 years before they hit under 1k. They are now under $500 here even for yearlings and sometimes adults.

Re: How about some jags?
Thanks everyone! I love all python noses, something about them!
Does this guy in Norway have CITES permits?? LOL!
I started buying my jag a a year before she was produced. I wanted to be first in line, and I was lol. So I have no problem buying a jungle before it hatches if it meant getting the jungle! I did the same thing for my black blood python, and Lucky me there were only 3 in the clutch(problems... with the incubator lets say) so I got my beautiful Nephry! Pays to be first in line.
I would want the same thing for the rough scales to be honest, so I'll be waiting a long time most likely! Hopefully no longer then 10 years... thats a bit long. Luckily my holy grail is still the White lips and Bolenes, so I should be happy in a good 3-5 years or so, keep me going until the roughies are available(and ball pythons are cheap like cornsnakes!)
Beautiful Rough scaled pytohn, is that yours? I personally love their eyes, especially the really blue eyed ones! I've never held one yet, I imagine it similar to a rattle snake though. But that you don't let slide through your hands like you can with a python lol. I can only imagine how it feels around your neck... I can't wait to have one lol! ~Caylan.S.~
PS If I were in australia, you can bet I'd want all the locality Jungles lol! Just wondering, are Oenpelli Python available there at all? Thats an elusive snake I've been dying to see more pictures of! Any info would be great, thanks in advance!

Re: How about some jags?
You can really shorten the 10 year wait for a roughie by equating 1 grand per year and whala.... a rough scaled python.
Nah mate, not mine it's at the local wildlife park.
Oenpellis....... the search has started (over a decade in the making) as there are a lot of beurucratic crap/permits legalities and the like to go through. One person is currently trying to search for them to bring them into captivity as he has been given a capture permit. Unfortunately that's proper rough country out there and each expedition which may only be a few weeks long cost a lot of money as you need to be dropped in by helicopter a long with all the supplies. The first expedition was a bust mate, three weeks out there and these guys are proper herpers that know that land came up empty handed.
It will be a while mate, probably close to another decade before they are established in captivity as first and foremost the capture permit is given as a permit to establish an "ark" for them. To study their natural behaviour and the like and actually just to find out about the animal itself. So with that it will be a while before they are released to the public. The person that has the permit though is a private individual and a reptile breeder, actually the first person to establish albino olive pythons (from a wildcaught specimen) and granite olive pythons. I'll PM you his name and his site if your interested.
I have a pair of locality specific Jungles by the way, a Tully locale male and an Atherton locale female.

the guy in norways black phase are all legally aquired,i'll try and track his webite down for you mate
he had only females for sale last year at hamn show,a friend of mine helen caffers on here bought one.
imo roughies prices should plummet 4,5,6 years from now,due to them having large clutches, easy to breed and all the older smuggled roughies hatchlings will be able to come out,as soon as the legal ones hit the market 3 or 4 years from now (in europe)
cheers shaun

Oenpellis would be the one python i would love more than any other ozzy morelia mate
i'd even move a diamond out to grab a pair of them
it is one of only a few pythons that has the ability to change colour and i've read they can grow as large as 4.5 metres ?
Arnhem Land escarpment,Kakadu National park in the Nothern Territory being the only place you find these rare and wonderfull snakes (i think ?)
imo truely special morelia that i'd do just about anything to work with (never going to happen )
RED INK
who aquired the capture licence for these guys ?
Peter Krauss has done some work with these beautys
cheers shaun
