Re: Does anyone know about acrylic enclosures?

All of my snakes are in my living room so I use a 4'x2'x18" , a 55 gallon, 20 gallon and a entertainment center that's been converted. The tanks are all glass.

Re: Does anyone know about acrylic enclosures?

For a Brb I'd recommend a 4ft x 18" x 18" for an adult female... Maybe a 3 for a male but I like to give the extra bit of room if I can... And either wooden or plastic (not transparent) as they hold heat/humidity better than glass vivs, plus the added security for the snake by being "hidden".

Re: Does anyone know about acrylic enclosures?

you don't really need anything that big for your BRB right now. 30"x12x12 is gonna be sufficient for a while. Until its 3ft long or so anyways, and it'll be a few months at least before it gets that long.

Wooden works? i think i read somewhere that wooden enclosures weren't good for BRB'S mainly because the humidity messes them up or something along those lines

Re: Does anyone know about acrylic enclosures?

as long as they're sealed so the water can't seep into the wood you won't have a problem

Re: Does anyone know about acrylic enclosures?

full wooden enclosures are probably gonna be pretty difficult to find, your best bet is to find a carpenter local and talk to them about making you one.

Re: Does anyone know about acrylic enclosures?

The acrylic cages on their site are for displaying animals at reptile shows. Not meant for housing. For housing something like Boaphile, Animal Plastic, Reptile Rack or Boamaster all have some really nice cages. they are made of PVC plastic so they hold humidity real great.

Wood does work very well. As long as its sealed it won't warp the wood... Ideally a boaphile is what I'd like for my sasha, however my funds won't allow that at the moment.
