Like I said in my post, garter snakes are always "curious" about what is happening outside their cage, they watch me all day through the glass, the climb, swim, and are highly active and alert.

That's why I keep them, they may not be bored, but they certainly are not BORING.

A snake that sits in it's hide all day may as well be a rubber decoration that eats and poops as far as I'm concerned.

Most of my corn snakes just sit around, but I have one that does everything you just said garters do.

My Grey Banded King actively explores his enclosure, moving between his hide and his climbing branch. My Ball python is also quite active, and visible, right now he is curled up underneath his platform.

My Sand Boas, on the other hand,are a different story, most of the time i only see their little shovel noses peaking out of the aspen, lol
