Ha! Great video! I love how snakes move their tails when they are pissed or hunting or whatever. I think it would be an amazing study to do on the correlation between types of tail movement and behaviour. There are many with dogs, now we need one for snakes!

They "wag" their tail cause in the wild there would be leaf/plant matter around to make the rattling noise of a rattler. I think? Also rattlers hold their tail up when being stealthy because they don't want it to drag and rattle. is that what you were talking about?

It seems to be a pretty universal thing for snakes of all kinds. Every single snake I have does it from kingsnake to GTP. It also seems to be unconscious sometimes, but I may be wrong. For instance, when my GTP was hunting last night and saw the mouse, his tail (which was high up in the perch) was twitching and moving like crazy, almost like he was excited.

Hes going to be tricky to feed, he strikes the F/T all day long but never grabs it, gona probably need to leave it with him.

I wasn't sure how my bulls would eat at first. The female wasted no time at all. The male just looked at it. After nudging his body a few times he struck at it and then latched on. Then again he is the shier of the two. Their hiss can be a little tough to.get used to. Especially since mine spend all their time burrowed and I gotta dig around for em ;-)
