Here's an adult - my 10 year old male,
Blue. He never got as big as I hoped, but he's bigger than his parents were, and infinitely easier to deal with. He was a tad grumpy to have him out yesterday for these shots, but he's starting a moult so I wanted to capture him before feeding and being out of commission for a couple of weeks as he prepares for a new paint job.
The guy that bred him tried for weeks to convince me to take the dame as a freebie bonus (pics of both sire and dame on my website), but she was a total basket case. The sire wasn't much better, but he was at least approachable. After a 15 year hunt for a Canadian-bred brong, I was happy just to find a hatchling I could raise myself, so I left him with his angry duo and just took home my little gupper. It's hard to believe that was a decade ago
