Believe it or not, local code enforcement once gave me a hassle over Chomper, after one of those lovely neighbours of mine called it in...

In New York state any monitor smaller than a Nile requires no paperwork, but if I had a Nile or larger, I am required to fill out a form and report that I own it.

Laws are vague, and vary from state to state, county to county and even town to town.

I fully support a permit system. States with one are usually able to avoid bans. It also keeps most unqualified people away.
