Re: Hey everyone! Just saying hi from Costa Rica!
I have two Epicrates maurus , commonly known as CRB's (Columbian Rainbow Boas)....On the forum somewhere I have a pic of my juvenile male (Morpheus) and baby female (Niobe). My male is darkening up and his markings are more difficult to see. My little female still has hers.

Very nice snakes you have! I'm actually planning to buy a male CRRB in some time, so I can have a pair... Do you find any difference between costarrican and colombian?

Actually there isn't a guard on the light, but I made it very difficult for the snake to actually reach the light bulb... I've been paying very careful attention and she never reaches the light or gets close to it...

Sounds good, but id.make it impossible instead of difficult.. they tend to explore when your sleeping, then one day you might find her wrapped on the bulb n a little crispy. Youd be amazed where snakes can get... my friend lost a corn for a month, found her in a cupboard 6 foot off the floor with a table 3 ft below it.

Oh! wow!, well, I've heard of many crazy snake stories! But actually this lamp I'm using it doesn't let the snake to coil around it, and during night time the heat is coming from another source!
