Re: Indigo feeling blue...
'Scuse my ignorance... What is an indigo? I can see it's probably a colubrid, but what type of a snake specifically? Adult size?

Re: Indigo feeling blue...
Ohh I guess what I asking is, saying "Indigo" is like saying "Corn Snake"?
Edit: that wikipedia answered that. Yes

Re: Indigo feeling blue...
That's a real beauty. This is the snake that got me into snakes as a kid. I read all I could about them and was all set to ask my parents for one until I saw they sold for about $500-$1000 apiece! Even waaaayyyy back in the '70s! How is the temperment, size, feeding response, etc. I've always heard they were gentle giants. VERY jealous of your Indigo!

Thanks everyone!
Indigos are great. They pretty much eat anything and everything. Mine goes nuts at feeding time, but other than that, there is virtually no chance of getting bitten. Indigos seem to have no fear of humans (or they quickly lose the fear,) so they are great to handle. I've used mine at a bunch of school and museum presentations. They max out at about 7' to 8'.
The only downside is that since they eat often and a lot, they do require more cage cleaning than most snakes.
Thanks again,
Ed
