Well he was never on rodents :P He's a water snake so he's always been on fish... but we had him on trout minnows... and he really did like those, but then he went into brumation and stopped eating all together.. and a couple months later be got talapia cause we couldn't get the trout anymore.. and he goes nuts for them :P

And that's Chompers cage.. It's about 6 feet long.. it was a pain to get in the house

I hope I don't sound blunt but that is a normal Northern Water snake. As you described it flattens out it's head and only a couple other colubrids do that in your area of Canada...
