It's all kicking off where I am, looting, arson etc. Thankfully they haven't come to my work as of yet but we have been tipped off from the police that there are planned riots for the area this evening and I'm working till 9.30

Just a cluster fudge of idiots - tho certain racist sections are claiming it to be race riots there is a massive mish mosh of ages/races taking part.

Laura - go home - or get your employers to arrange taxi's - as there is a defined risk and the police have told them your employers are responsible for ensuring you get home safely.

Yeah I would be calling into work today and telling them that since the police warned of riots you are staying home. If nothing else heading home early before they get there. Who plans when it comes to riots though? Who calls into the police and say "Yeah the riot is moving to such and such street tonight at 9pm" Thought they would be much less predictable than that.

Apparently the looter/rioters are organising through blackberry messaging - the police are monitoring it so they know roughly what is happening.

Unfortunately I've been informed to stay put till the **** pretty much hits the fan, the rioting is only like a mile away yet I'm instructed to keep trading till the mob moves here :/

laura, i myself live in new addington and theyve started up here apparently, as for the rest of you, its just a bunch of mindless ****** who think they can get away with theft and rioting, i personally think they should bring bk national service or even ask for public volunteers to help deal with it all, go back to the way the government thought like in the 2 great wars, where the general public helped out with the raids and black outs, or shoot them all with high powered tranqs and arrest them, put them on a large boat and mooring them out at sea and let them fight it out between them.

If foreign nationals invaded our cities and started looting and burning buildings then the armed forces would be sent in with live ammo to sort it out - Whats the difference to waht is happening now? Send in the Forces and sort it out!

Well myself and my place of work managed to survived the evening, hopefully when I open in the morning it will be just how I left it :/
