Re: Yesterdays tornados and storm.

Far out sorry to hear about the barn mate, but at least the house is ok! I would love some of the old panels of wood as you could make an awesome old style western bar out of them!

You really do get all the weather extremes where you live Wayne.

Thanks mate. Nearly 40 years of memories gone

Used to play in that barn when I was a child, raised beef and pork in there when I was a teen, overhauled my first motorcycle in there, stashed my belongings in there during my 1986 divorce.. a lot of history.

Yeah, i understand what your saying mate. Memories can not be replaced! I lost a few things in the "black saturday" fires over here a couple of years back, but im extremely lucky compared to others. Some of the wood would make a great bar mate. If you built the small barn in its place you could dedicate a corner of it to making a saloon of sorts.

Re: Yesterdays tornados and storm.

I just add it to the list, the original house here burned down in 1994 with most of my stuff stored in it. I was living down in Florida at the time.

so all we can do is make new memories and cherish the old ones.

Lot's of childhood memories with that barn. Going to miss it.

On a brighter note, My taxes just went down.

safest way to pull down and recover what you need would be with a backactor don't know what you call them over there mate ?

a tracked machine that turns 360 degrees with a back hoe arm and bucket.something around the caterpillar 245 size would do the trick mate

pity your so far away or i would have gladly come to help you

i too loved that old barn it looked like something out a horror film

glad you and the family are ok the main thing is no one is hurt wayne

all the best shaun

Re: Yesterdays tornados and storm.

The barn may be the place where the memories happened but it isnt the place where the memories are stored - they will forever be in your heart. Its hard to lose an icon but you can never lose the memories.
