Try using a halogen bulb. Halogens are usually smaller than incandescents of the same wattage. And use a spot light instead of a flood light to get more heat concentrated into a smaller area. In my opinion, the best light/heat/uvb set-up for Uromastyx lizards is a combination pendant fixture with halogen bulb, a strip fixture with a uvb 10.0 bulb and, if necessary, an under tank heating pad.
