Re: Hello new to this site
Nice variety you have in your collection. Beautiful Corn, I'm sure she's well enjoyed in her new home. We just picked up a retired breeder male Okeetee. He wasn't handled much and is a little timid, but maybe he'll come around.

Re: Hello new to this site
Gorgeous snakes! Be careful letting them around your neck though, they can tighten up and make your day pretty awful in a second, even if they don't mean to. When I have snakes on my shoulders, I always make sure that the coil goes down under one arm and back up around my other shoulder- that way there is no way the snake can accidentally choke me out, lol.

Re: Hello new to this site
lol Thx willow for the good advice....never had one tighten up too much yet...you sound sound very smart and so well informed I love this site.......meeting so many(more experienced than myself) snake keepers, I love my babies, snakes are somewhat of a passion to me and always have been. I just want to learn as much as I can and hopefully one day be as involved and educated as some of you on here.......snakes are my life lmao

Re: Hello new to this site
Just to add to Kim's comment regarding snakes around your neck (I'm sure mavelfreak or lankyrob will comment as well); it only takes 5-7 seconds of appropriately applied pressure to knock you unconscious. Your brain may not even register that the snake is applying pressure, and before you know it, lights out. This can be extremely hazardous to both you and the snake.
I've kept snakes for over 15 years--albeit smaller snakes--however, after joining this forum, I no longer allow any of my snakes to wrap around my neck. There are some brilliant and highly experienced people on this forum (Willow being one of them), and everyone here only wants the best for you and your pets!

Re: Hello new to this site
Hey there - welcome to the site. As mentioned by Ch^4 snakes around necks is my "thing". It literally takes milliseconds of pressure in the right place to be unconscious and hitting the floor, in which case if you are lucky the snake slithers off and when you recover you have to try to find it, if you are unlucky the snake panics and constricts harder.................
But hey, you have some beautiful animals and seem willing to listen so nothing bad is gonna happen - this subjesct has been thrashed through quite a few times recently already.
