Re: help with heating at night.

With young snakes you should not drop the temps at all. Even when they are adults there is no need unless you plan to breed.

Re: help with heating at night.

if you dont want to leave the light on simply because the lights keeping you awake or something you can switch to non light emmiting ceramic bulbs.they give great consistant temperatures and give off only heat no light at all.

imo that would be more economical than running a heater all night to heat the whole room up

cheers shaun

Wasn't born on Easter morning, but I did wake up one Easter morning to see that one of our cats had killed the Easter bunny. My dad had a 55 gallon drum sitting outside of the dining room window. I got up Easter morning, saw my Easter basket on the table, and outside the window.....A dead Easter bunny.

Re: help with heating at night.

im sure if you check out reptile supply shops on line you will find them under the heating section

ceramic bulbs is what they are called

they are a non light emmiting heat source

im not very good with computers but im sure someone closer to you will be able to provide some better info

Re: help with heating at night.

i use exo terra moonlight blue bulbs they don't produce as much light as the red bulbs IMO ceramics don't produce any light but need ceramic domes, radiant heat panels and UTH don't produce light either and radiant heat panels are supposed to pay for themselves over their life (i have never used them so i can recommend them personally

Re: help with heating at night.

thats the ones mate

thanfully someone can work a computer better than me on here.

i run all my carpet tanks on them except my diamond as she has different husbandry requirements

ive never had any problems and would reccommend them 100%

most snakes dont need light sources in their tanks imo

my diamond has a small uvb tube but as said shes different

cheers shaun
