Re: GTP feeding
GTPs are not as bad as everyone says they are. They are generally not that aggressive, if you know how to approach them and if they are set up properly they will thrive. They are more delicate than, say, a BP or a carpet, but not much more so than a blood IMHO. I had more trouble with my bloods than I have had with my GTPs or ETBs.

Re: GTP feeding
I think best thing is to go into it with lots of reading and research behind you. So far its not as much hassle or worry as i was lead to believe. I hope it continues that way!!

Re: GTP feeding
It seems that's the best course with any new animal.

Im so glad Im not the only one who feels this way. My GTPs are wonderful and VERY handleable. I hate when people assume Im lying when I say mine are docile. They do have more delicate temperaments sometimes. But routine and good environment and handling can make a very docile GTP

Re: GTP feeding
Little bugger had me sweating last night!! Did my normal pre bedtime roinds and he was hanging from his usual perch but his head was tucked between two of his coils and his head was also upside down.
Never seen him like this before so was a little worrieed especially when i couldn't see any signs of breathing so opened his viv and gently touched him and there was barely any movement. In the end i lightly sprayed him at which he turned his head over and looked at me as if to say "i was asleep, what you do that for!!!"
Will know to just leave him alone next time!

Re: GTP feeding
Haha, chondros do some weird stuff sometimes. My girl Sunset likes to coil with her head at the bottom, upside down. Archie likes to hang out on the ground during the day under some fake foliage. They are quite variable animals, and are always surprising us with their antics. Generally the only time you have to worry about a dead chondro is if it is limp on the ground. They won't stay coiled if they are not healthy.

Re: GTP feeding
haha just bought my first GTP, which as far as I can tell has really docile temperament. But it also sounds, from reading this thread, that they have quite a personality
Anyway she seems happy now in her new home, which I spent some good money on her and home to ensure such situation, so hopefully all goes well. Either way I'm excited to see how she grows and evolves.
P.S. It's my third snake in about four weeks... I think I'm addicted. But I also think this collection will satisfy me for now.
Maybe just one more eh
