Requiem for a Dream and A Clockwork Orange are my 2 favorite movies.
I also like Falling Like This (chick flick on the sundance channel but all the music is by Ani Difranco rock on!) and Waking Life.

thanks chief, i'm a big fan of all those "ground breaking" horror movies, but give me a film with leslie neilson and i'll be pissing like a drunk.

AIRPLANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love the bit when neilson is giving that bloke an emotional talk about an unknown pilot, he then mentions the name George Zipp. and says an absolute beaut line...... "i might not make it now, but i'll always be there, but i might not smell to good" fecking genius. and all the ...."a hospital. what is it?"
"it's a big building with patients in it, but thats not important right now"

and....."surely u can't be serious?"
"i am serious, and don't call me Shirley"

and not forgetting....
"We have clearance Clarence"
"roger, Roger. Whats our vector Victor?"
cheers
paul

Gunna have to go with Real Genius as my all-time favorite. Not far behind are Clerks and Mall Rats.

For "serious" movies, American Beauty, American History X, 2001: A Space Odyssey (even more amazing when you watch it and then Night of the Living Dead and realize the 2 movies were made in the same year)

Sci fi/fantasy... 12 Monkeys, The Princess Bride, the Star Wars trilogy...

there are tons of others, but I think these are my faves
