Praises for your work! I hope everythings goes well! Now, this may be a slightly stupid question, but I've never done a set up and am looking into getting a ball or corn in a few months. How do I do the heating pad or tape so that something like this NEVER happens? Would a light be better? Does a tape work with rubbermaids?

Thanks Pheonix. Everything seems to be going great, shes in a shed cycle so she'll probably shed off the rest of the scabbing.

#1 Rule for heating cages.- Use some sort of thermostat....a way to control the heat of the heatpad properly. Heat tape does work for plastic rubbermaids at controlled temperatures. I personally dont use lights, or heatlamps with my snakes...they prefer belly heat for disgestion. To each there own though.

yeah I use heat tape and rubbermaids, and has been working for a good year and a half. Good luck with your soon-to-be, good to see you are taking initiative and researching.
