Suicide is a different topic when it's done because of medical problems, IMO. It's not the same as someone feeling "down" and offing themselves. But that's another discussion.
I'm inclined to agree with you there, and relieved to know that this wasn't a "self-pity suicide". This does change my outlook quite a bit on the matter.

Yeah for sure. It would be a LARGE dissapointment otherwise, as I feel the exact same way you do when it comes to people taking the easy way out.

You guys really shouldn't be so judgemental about people who take their own lives for whatever reason. Maybe you two have never had any experience with someone who is manic-depressive or unbalanced chemically to a point where they feel they don't have any other alternative.

I'm not trying to start anything and respect your opinions....but it sounds so terribly callous to think of someone committing suicide to be solely doing it for a reason of 'self-pity'.

Just feel blessed that you won't ever have to go through the hell that others have.

You have no idea what experience I have had with suicide. Let me tell you, it was a CLOSE family member involved, a good number of years ago. And I STILL feel it's an easy way out, and since I HAVE been through it, I can decide to feel whichever way I'd like. Just like you.

My family member decided on the easy, weak way out instead of the hard way which was years with a professional, working out your issues like the rest of us have to when we go through hard times, or need some help.

Again a suicide discussion isn't really the topic so I myself will be sticking to messages about Hunter Thompsons "case" rather than personal thoughts on it from here on out. I suggest we all do the same if we can.
