Hmmm.. I never realized that golden geckos would take fruit. I guess you learn something new every day.

As for the scarring...... I would still guess that is is the result of a burn. Even though the former keeper (if you could call him that) had no heat lam pon the gecko.....
My guess is that perhaps he had a heat lamp a few years ago in the tank.. or close to the top.. and decided to stop using it after the gecko burned itself. A possible scenario.... and my first thought.

Either way.... good luck wth this guy.

I'm sure he didn't have a heat lamp on it he would have told me I mean he had it next to a freezing cold window if there was ever a time for one it would have been then. I was thinking it could be some kind of cut that got infected because of the nasty crap in the cage.

I'd say yeah a nasty wound, or a fungal/bacteria problem. Hopefully it will resolve itself with good care.

My Golden will even accept fresh chopped fruit. He will take strawberries. melon and watermelon. I only use this as a treat though.

Since goldens have the same requirments as skunk geckos I figured I would try and help.

Don't know what to say other then they love there baby food and I have no idea what may have caused that mark/scar.

If you need any help, there is always me
