I've used Betadine directly on lizard wounds.

The person was asking for suggestions and thats what he is getting. Dont' get sarcastic cause someone gives him an answer you don't like, how does that phrase go "If you can't say something nice?????"

As for bleach, it is fine for cleaning just have to be more thorough in your rinsing. Most people use bleach for cleaning things, laundry in my house or snake cages if there has been an illness or mites.

If you don't care what they use why did you respond in the first place.

As for stupid reply's your comment on Jeffs reply was just that, why would you get all sarcastic because someone stated a few methods that work?

Steam is my weapon of choice

picked up a handheld steamcleaner last year that does a quick job of cleaning out rubbermaids. I do also use a bleach solution once every couple of months as well but you do have to make sure you rinse really well afterward.

Haven't tried the vinegar/peroxide thing but i'm sure it's very effective as well.

I would assume as well that you are talking about Betadine.

Betadine is what I use when disinfecting a cage, equipment, or directly on a reptile. I have used it right on wounds/infections, and have even bathed animals in it. I often find myself giving new snakes a bath in Betadine, then a nix bath before they enter the snake room. It is harmless to reptiles, ingestion should be avoided as always but it's great stuff to have around.

Wow guys, I was a bit busy with exams, I come back to the forums and look what happens! A flame war in my thread! (never had that happen ) Anyway guys thanks for answering. I guess I didnt hear what the employee said exactly. I;m also wondering what I can use for some sticky residue. My thermometer I had in my cage fell off somehow and now I have that residue... any suggestions?

I use Betadine to clean cages, and have done so for years. It's simple to apply in a 1:10 ratio with water. Just put it in a spray bottle and squirt away. The only problem I've found is if the mist is too fine you may end up inhaling some of the mist. It's never hurt me, but doesn't smell or feel that great. I would endorse it's use, but stay tuned here as someone else may have a "better" alternative.

Don't be throwing around accusations.... You seem to be the only one that really cares about what I said.... Personally I don't think it was as BIG a deal as your making it.... That has been the first "so-called" snide remark I have made on this forum... But your perfect right... Humphrey's never said anything rude or snide here...... A quick searched answered that question for me....

I enjoy this site and don't feel like fighting with it's members..... corn snake91, sorry for turning your simple question into an unnessary ... blah, blah, blah... lol
nough said
ciao, Collin... or wait... maybe it's Billy today.... hahahahahaha
