I think it might be called a mature student. If you've been out of school for a few years

im 19, a mature student only for college.. its 21 for university

and spider.. i tried to go back even before i was out.. i signed up for the next year and the principal called me in and asked why.. so i replied...

" well im not quite ready to leave, i dont know what i want from my life yet but im thinking about university now"

she then replied,

" well you should have thought of that before, im sorry but im not goig to allow you back in"...
to me it sounded like..

"were not going to allow you in even though your only 17, your on the honer roll, you have 3 extra creds you had all creds at 16, your attendence has 0 unexplained in 4 years and every teacher that has ever tought you has nothing but high praise... not including the 3 letters in your folder from different department heads stating you should be in advanced clases ( even english, but i cant spell) and 2 extras stating your excellence in CO-OP. as well im goig to overlook the 3 school math awards 2 english one science and 1 provence wide math award"

her reasons were too many students as well asthe fact that i came back for a semester after i had all my creds.. if i didnt fast track i would have been back anyways

so you get my point ( sorry im a little bitter about that) but when i did grad i had 0 university creds cause i never thought about school... i need 6 so id have to go back till im 20 nearly 21 so for me its just easier to take the college course.. i HOPE to go to UN but it really all depends on how i feel after college.... thanks alot for the advice though.. but ive looked at every possible option.. ive had 2 years to do so..lol.. thanks again

No problem. I friend of mine wanted to go back to school for architecture but she didn't have the credits. Instead, she attended adult school and picked up science classes. I tutored her for a bit and it was really cool to realise I knew more than I thought I did Okay I'm off topic.

Anyway, my last bit of advice is to work your butt off in college and get into uni. Even if you are unable to get in through the college, you can always apply on your own. You might not get as many credits but you can still get in.

Science companies like the letters after your name so a PEng will likely get you promoted faster than CET or whatever the certification is for mech eng techs. You might consider architecture yourself. Engineers are a dime a dozen but the big bucks are in architecture. (You have to be good at it though.)

And join the local chapter of the engineering society.

and pluming is being made easier now ( for everyone) there starting to use plastic pipe.. no joints just bend it where you want it..
Yea thats really getting big now. The Wirsbo, some german company, is the only one I trust. All the joints and fittings sit really nicely once you get the hang of it, but its only good if you buy the electric gun that stretches it open for you instead of using the manual machine. Its expensive, the gun, but well worth the 3000 grand if you have it. My dad is a plumber along with his brother who owns a business. My dad has been working for my uncle running the business for so long and he hasnt been given a cut so he wants me to open up my own plumbing business with him to get big. Hope it works!

Good luck in college bro.

spder: oh ya im gonna work harder than ever, you work hard when your young you dont have to work as hard when your older... architecture was orginally my goal.. and if i work hard enough than the college course im taking can open thoes doors for me as well... so its definatly an option.. thanks alot...

bartman: have you every worked with your dad, i have been for about 6 years.... over top of the argueing, and the father son stuff, its been really great.. when i was young i never really got to spend time with my dad, he was always workin, but for the last 6 years ive had all the time to catch up. its been great.. i hope you feel the same when you start working with your father...
