Umm In my opinion they less agressive, and very pretty to look at. Veilds are just as great but i perfer blue over green

yes panthers are a good starter cham, although so are veilds. Veilds tend to be more aggressive as adults, but they are great as a starter cham because they will tollerate much more errors on your part. I would sugest a veild but panthers are still great. Its up to you really what ever u like. just my 2 cents

well my cham doesnt tollerate anything.. and to top it off he escaped while i had the door open.. he had never done that before.. so i was stuck for like 20 min with a very pissed off cham sitting on top of his cage door with no way to get him back in.. so if you get something that is more likely to tolerate handleing youlln have a better and easier cham.. and females seem to be less aggressive..

what i mean is a veild cham will tollerate lower humidity, they can tolerate varieing temps, they are more hardy.

And who is to say that u will not get a aggressive panther. or a pleasent veild. I would not recomend females as your first cham just to much added reproductive stuff to add to the first time cham owning experience.

Yes veilds are more aggressive but chams are not good to be handeled anyway so thats just my thoughts...

ya start off with a male, females need a lot of work at 6 months of age when they are able to produce eggs

oh i kew exactly what you ment collide and i wasnt trying to contridict you... i was just meaning that mine doesnt tollerale handleing showers, me walking into my room... and as for male or female i do for thoes reasons suggest male but they will tend to be more aggressive..

when you look for a cham see if one likes to be handled... that way thay may tolerate handleing.. but the main thing is health..

if they are aggressive..what do they do? do they whip or bite or what??
and i prolly would go with a male..cus i dont want to breed or anything..i want a pet.
and are they ok with living alone..or is it better to have them with a buddy? are two males ok together?
and i think i'll do my research before i decide for sure between panther or veiled.

males fight lol. Yes they might bite you, and they start hissing etc

if you want a pet a chameleon might not be the best thing.. onle SOME are handleable but more often then not you should only handle them when you need to... i cant even go near mine..

theyll hiss and may bight but the main thing theyll do is puf up hgiss and change colour... when they get to ba a darker colour they get stressed out.. which in the end leads to a shorter lifespan....

chams are typically a display lizard and do require a fare bit of room to live hapily..

so if your looking for a pet a cham may not be the best choice...

im not trying to talk you outta things i just wanna make sure u understand what your getting into before you star building or buying...

thanks peter..for looking out for me.
but its weird cus whenever i go to a petstore or rep.store they are so easy going..and dont mind being held too much.
but i definitely look into it more..although i dont mind giving privacy..thats no prob..every reptile needs it..(ive learned that first hand..lol)
thanks again for the help..i'll keep u posted on what i decide to do..although w/e i decide..it wont be for a while.
