no, don't "just whack the mouse" I've had mice that I couldn't even find a heart beat on "miraculsly(sp?)" come back alive!
when they looked and for all apearence sake appeared dead! If you do that you MUST make absolute sure the mouse is dead, once wacked do a cervical dislocation (break the neck).

Cam I really didn't want to see that at all. Please post a link with a warning on it instead.
Thanks
Hump.

Reality bites. It's a FACT that can happen to snakes when you feed live. It's a risk. It's something newbies to the hobby MUST see.
But yes maybe a link next time instead seeing as some find it too much.

Marissa,
I'm not a "newbie", and I didn't really want to see that. If there was a link than you have the choice. That's like me posting pictures of a bunch of mangled bodies after a car accident, and saying "see what can happen to all you new drivers." I aggree with you that it is a fact of reality and alot of newbies should see what can happen if you feed live, but a link to the picture with a warning would have been alot more tasteful. Just my $0.02.
Hump.

When I took my drivers training awhile back they actaully made everyone in the class sit and watch these videos of car accidents and it was very graphic showing mangled up bodys. To help prevent drinking and driving or speeding. It is pretty much the same thing tho show new snake keepers what can happen when you leave a live prey in the cage unattended.

I never called you a newbie. I said people new to the hobby NEED to see things like this because all the explanations in the world cannot make some people see the real danger to their animals when they leave live unattended.
And malaysianbloods, I also had to watch those videos. Quite effective at the time.
A link would have been better, as I stated in my post already. But personally I don't see why it matters. But to please the members I suggested a link next time.

Marissa,
LOL! I never said that you said I was a "Newbie". I was just stating that I wasn't a newbie and I didn't want to see it and that a link for those who did, would have been much more appropriate. Yes I know you told them to use a link next time and I agreed with you when you said it's a fact of reality and newbies should see what can happen, but I thought it could have been done in a more tasteful manner, but it pretty much doesn't matter what I say, you always seem to argue it. I could say Marissa's the most beautiful Herper of all time, and you'd start arguing over it. So it doesn't really matter what I say, maybe I should try reverse psychology! LOL

oh lord! Someone should have included "dont eat breakfast while reading this post" in the subject line of this one! (and naturally I am eating breakfast. My eggs just got SO much less appealing)
Still, that pic really drives the point home. Don't feed live unattended, if at all.

If you have problems with my other replies to you anywhere on this website, feel free to use the "PM" button.
Otherwise it's really pointless to bring up "issues" of arguing about OTHER threads in this one. It obviously has caused confusion. Thanks.
