hello all

that is awesome.
he is so tiny.

i just decided today to get back into this. i hope to have a tank set up and ready to go in the next few weeks. i posted a hello thread in the general section but i think i may be spending more time here. i loved my chameleons. they were so cool.

when i was doing it we didnt have these fancy screen tanks or our local places didnt really have that type of supply, we had to make them or use tanks.

why "need" a screen tank, is it for air circulation?

i only had one johnsons type chameleon that was given to me, he wasnt healthy when i got him, and didnt last long. so i dont have a lot of experience with that type of lizard.

is it totally out of the question to raise them in tanks?

yes u need a screened enclosure for air circulation chameleons raiesed in tanks can develop respatory infections.

As mentioned above they need well-ventilated screen enclosures to avoid any respitory problems. Glass is also unsuitable because the chameleon's own reflection in glass is enough to stress it out to the point of death.
