bingo. mexican parrot snake leptophis mexicanus. awesome snake. by far a challanging one and very pretty. i would like to get leptophis aheatulla and some others, but only time will tell.

Katt's hint gave it away - she is sooo funny!! Very pretty little guy and nice to see more diversity in colubrid collections.

it was part of my collection. but it was shipped out west... currently have an adult pair of prasina's. its more than enough. one of my favorite snakes i have ever kept are malagasy leaf nose snakes.

Sorry Katt - just had to give you a hard time!! Of all the people here you are one who knows these species better than anyone and when I saw your response was 'cornsnake' it broke me up!!

Did prompt me to figure out what this guy was though - very pretty snake. I am so tempted to indulge in some of the alternate colubrids and have been looking into a few of the different ratsnakes - this guy reminded me of E. frenata with the green color and eye stripe - so had to figure out what it was.

Mary, trust me. Vanan is the expert in these strange rear fanged colubrids.

I know nothing! It's only that Jordan is a good friend of ours and thus we know what this was. But thanks for the vote of confidence!
