Maybe it is his favorite snake becuause it is normal, and a nice looking normal at that - and the "guess what kind of morph it is" question was loaded.
ding ding ding?
If it is expensive, then I'm sorry Kahane, for calling it a normal - but please enlighten me to as what it is.
(or maybe het for snow - kinda looks like it, hehe)

Jungle boas, caramel-albino boas? I'm lost.
25 years ago we had beautiful common boas and the 'red-tail' craze was just starting. But we were producing beautiful boas with nice colours anyway and just put it off to marketing.
Time has proven me wrong!

if any1 has followed jungle threads on the other site then calling something a jungle as a marketing scheme is a bad idea as there is so much controversy about this morph.
just some food for thought
very nice boa

The only thing that I can see that is not "normal" is the face markings( the mask) they look very light in colour.

A friend told me this snake was a jungle, and if it is, then I appologize for my above post, as I thought it might be a nice common that you really liked.
Kahane, anyone, what makes it a jungle?

Well, jungle being a dominant trait as opposed to recessive, there are only jungles and super jungles. No hets with these guys, just like pastel balls. Every picture I've seen of them show some kind of pattern aberancies, at the very least a weird stripey tail. If it came from a litter that had jungles in it doesn't make it a jungle because as i understand it, with dominant traits it is all or nothing. Regardless of morph though, it is a very gorgeous snake.

The most typical Jungle trait is the lack of side markings connecting to the saddles. These usually affect the first couple tail saddles too. Also the aberrant sadles are common. This being what I have seen from the pics from breeders in the US, not in person. And I can see where the back 3rd is definately lacking them.
I'm not saying it isn't (I'm not the breeder, nor a breeder of jungles), but it would not have been my first guess either. Let the genetics prove out. Hope it breeds well for you.

He is indeed a Jungle Boa, He's from the True Swedish Bloodlines. The lines that are recognized as the True Jungle Boas.
As for a discription of the Jungles and it's genetics. It iis a co-dominat form and the Super frorm woutld be the Super Jungles. Which is arguably the best looking boa Morph out there. As for their Traits, GaryD Pretty much sums it up, but there are different degrees of abberrency is saddles and lack of side patterns. As you can see this one is not an extreme Jungle but he does have the traits, although it's subtle. It's all in the genes
As with any new or rare Morphs, there's alot of fake ones that might look similar. The Most important thing when acquiring a rare morph is to deal with a reputable BREEDER that will guarentee the genetics of the snake. when I was looking to investing into Jungles or Super Jungles, I went to 2 of the top Boa Breeders. Especially for Jungle boas, not many people have bred them. I located Peter Kahl and Jeremy Stone for my Jungles. This way I will not get any fake wanna be Jungles but only the real deal Swedish bloodlines. This one came from Jeremy Stone.
Thanks everyone for replying to this thread
Shawn where did you get your Jungle from? and could you post a photo? I'm sure he is nice.

It's good to see some one with foresight and an understanding that good genetics go beyond the most eye popping line bred specimins on the market.
