The thing that I pprefer about console games is that I dont have to look at the box and wonder if it will run on my system. The brutul thing is when you go out and buy a game because your system can apparently "handle it well" based on the specs listed on the box, and then you have a choppy half assed game that will only work well on a brand new machine. If I go out and buuy a game for my PS2 or my gamecube, I know exactly how well the game will run on my system, and the game has been desgned for a unit with the EXACT same specs as the one I have at home.
I am actualy quite tired of wasting my money on PC games. A console is made for gaming, and each game is tailored around a joystick for that system.... I hate using a keyboard and/or a mouse for game controls for a number of genres. I stick to console gaming because it is far fewer headaches.
That said.... you could never play Diablo or Starcraft on a console...... so each platform has it strenghts and weaknesses. To each their own I guess.

I REALLY want the new GTA, but why waste my money and buy it for the ps2 when i'll just wait hella longer and get a nicer version for the xbox(which i know i'm def. getting). I was a fool and bought GTA 3 and Vice City for both systems, but not this time.
Can't wait for Halo 2 it's almost here!!!! Had my copy paid for since Febuary 03.
With all this game talk i think it's almost time for some Tetris or some MKD, don't know but i'll figure it out when i see what friends are on live.

Hey, what is medal gear solid 3 about. Is it just like a first person war game such as medal of honor or soldier of furtune? and what do you mean they will have reticulated pythons and anacondas..are those the name of the characters or animals you encounter? thanks, jon

How come nobody mentioned FABLE, that's one of the best rpg's for the x-box along with KOTOR right after it. The 2nd kotor is comming soon also in december I believe it's the 18th. But then there's the greatest game ever developed HALO. Can't wait for the 9th when I get to pick up mt steel copy of halo 2 at 12:01am. I have 3 days off work just for HALO 2, if anyone has played halo online through xbconnect I am sure they will know what I am talking about. Suck's that doom 3 was pushed back again for the box though.......

Snakerkeeper, Fable was fun, but way too short. KOTOR blows it away, by far. I was quite disapointed with Fable.
San Andreas is damn good so far, I kinda prefer the whole mafia theme of vice city, and GTA III over the street thug thing, but it's still fun, and man, it's far more interactive than the others (who knew that was possible?) Check it out if you liked the prior games!

MUDFLAPS:
Meat Gear is like Syphon Filter, Tom Clancy games and a bit like Socom series without a team effort. These sites will give you alot on information on all 3 games of this series.
METAL GEAR 1
METAL GEAR 2
METAL GEAR 3 INFORMATION
Yes from what I heard and read so far this game will have reticulated pythons and anacondas plus a few other animals that are part of the jungle scenario. Basically while you infiltrate the enemy these animals will be part of the situations you will encounter as risks to your health, meaning you will need to kill a few to move on through out the game. Also heard they may be used as food for health, but not sure on that yet. Other animals to encounter are rats, tree frogs, hornets, magpies, and a few other treats.
Metal Gear is very addictive, when I first saw it in a commercial on TV for #1, I went out to get it and an PS1 console, seems like alot for 1 game but well worth it.
It' ll be here in Canada in November, my wait is almost over yahooo.
Cya...

I didnt read the reply's to the thread, just skimed.
But, I played gta san adreas and I must say I was extremely impressed. I didnt play it for very long, maybe an hour, but from what I saw it was quite amazing. Haircut salons, clothing stores, great graphics, very realistic driving, tons of mini games and an all around incredible game..as usual.
I found someone with a cheep ps2 so im going to buy it for that reason only, because this game is only on it. Man was it fun!!!!
