Another age old problem is shipping herps in Canada. An auction site isn't much good if you can't get the animal there inexpensively, legally and without it becoming a popsicle between Nov and April. The only legal mode of herp transit in Canada is Air cargo and its expensive, and restrictive based on weather, geography and proximity of customers to airports.
Americans have better weather, and more shipping options, at much lower rates. Some sellers even guarantee "delivered to your door" type service.. Something likely to remain only a dream in the vastness of the great white north.
someone shopping for the low bid bearded dragons
is unlikely to stomach a $100 plus shipping charge and a long drive to an airport.
Shipping in fact is my biggest concern for the entire industry. It's an essential but fairly weak link.
