Is that the one from the N.Y. Zoo that died recently? I think it was N.Y., could have been New Jersey. Where ever it was that is one huge snake. Great example of the species.

As for Hunter..
I have worked with her since she was 3 feet long ..
Backgroung:
She just hit 4 years old .. not 5
She is just shy of 19 feet .. but will be there soon ...
Last time weighed she was 240 pounds (that was about 3 month ago and she has had several feedings since then
She was a confiscated animal like 80% of our animals .. so no idea of locality or anythign like that..
She is as tame as any snake gets ..
HMMMM Largest thing she ate was a 50 pound goat but on average she eats around 30 pounds of meat a feeeding .. lets say .. 3 ten pound rabits or 6 large chickens or 3 small goats and such.
We try to feed her every saturday but she ends up eating once every 2 weeks.. She did just eat for me this weekend!
out of curiosity ..
What is the OFFICIAL weight of the retic at reptilia .. I hear different numbers all the time .. Anyone work there and actually know.. From when I saw it this summer, it would surprise me that it grew that much .. I especially like his labarynth of a cage.

The name's Marsha, a sulawesi female. She was kept at the San antonio zoo and died
some time ago. VPI has a website on her.
Weight was close to 300 pounds, they claim.

That's the one I was thinking of. There was a small write up about it in REPTILES not that long ago.

I think the article you're talking about was about samantha. I have read it and seen the pic. Samantha was kept at the Bronx Zoo and died sometime ago, maybe 2-4years ago.

She died like two years before the article was issued.
