I must admit, incubators aren't always the most exciting peice of a breeding setup...

But dude, that thing is NICE!

Is there more shelves, or just the one...?

Thanks Everyone!

It is just one shelf but the egg chambers are very large and can hold several clutches of colubrid or small python eggs. Or smaller egg chambers could be used. Here is a pic of an egg chamber that is incubating Fox Snake eggs in our snake room. The room is at 82F so no heat source is needed. There are two clutches in this pic but we have added a third. In this pic one clutch is stuck together and the other clutch had eggs that were not stuck together...

Here is a pic of the finished incubator. I put stick on foam on the inside of the sliding glass so the foam meets and seals the glass better. I hope you like it...

Very nice looking, I want to build a flashy looking incubator some time - the best looking one I got is an old fridge!

After much testing I totally reconstructed this incubator. Mainly because of condensation and I didn't trust the wafer thermostat.

First the wafer was replaced by a Helix DBS 1000. This thermostat is proportional and sends a trickle of electricity to the heat tape. I like being able to look at it and see exactly what temp its at.

The water bottles were removed to allow more air flow and another fan was added. They are now bolted to the bottom side of the egg crate shelf with one blowing up and one blowing down.

The strips of 3 inch flewwatt were replaced by 3 ft of 11 inch on the bottom and I added 3 ft to the top to stop condesation. It worked great. Six ft may be overkill but with a Helix it only gets a trickle of power.

Here is an updated pic...

I used a wafer in a bar fridge incubator for my corns. But like you you I switched to a DBS for my ball eggs.
Cheers,
Trevor
