Warning About Cashiers Checks!!!

I just got one of those wonderful 419 scam emails, where they want you to give them money in order to transfer a large amount through your accounts.

So here was my response:

Dear Aramide,

Unfortunately my investments are currently locked up in RRSPs, and I would have to pay taxes amounting to roughly 30% of their value in order to withdraw them for reinvestment. If you would consider fronting the funds to pay those taxes, I would be happy to assist. They wouldn't amount to more than 35,000 CDN dollars.

Please let me know if you would be able to release funds for that purpose.

What would be funny is if the dumb bastards got greedy and actually fronted me the money for their fraud. I have no compunction against ripping them off. They haven't been known to kill anyone on Canadian soil yet. I'd just have to avoid Nigeria for a few years

No offense, but unless they contacted you through your website, why would you have given a complete stranger your home phone number, especially a questionable one?

the point of this thread was to warn fellow herpers about getting ripped off. Tarzet did a great thing by letting us all know.

give up the "it could never happen to me" syndrome and show some repect.

Im assuming this is the same thing. It seemed odd right away. I am the type when I know someone is trying to con me, I will try and turn the tides. I had a couple of scames going with people from Africa till I got bored and quit replying. Funny what you can get them to do when they think you are a big fish and areready to invest.

How many dragons are you interested in and where are you located? Each dragon is priced individually, and the possibility of group pricing depending on the qty that you require.

I will wait to see where he is located before I start playing him, but judging by the way each e-mail is written and given the fact all my prices are in my ads I think it is a scam. Will keep you all updated.
