Here is one of my girls i will have for sale. Nothing to colourful but they have neat brindle patterns. They are $130 because they are females. They'll be at Henry Pioruns table if you want to take a look

Cresteds are usually much cheaper up here, mainly because the market is pretty small in relation to the U.S., as a result there just isn't the demand to support a price hike like $350 US for a gecko like Anthony's. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong, I've had a few high calibre cresties like that and would love to be able to sell them for that much...

Bottom line, I've never seen an animal that nice posted on these forums or even for sale on Kingsnake. People need to take that into account before accusing someone of "overpricing." If you can find one like that for $150 CDN, more power to you, but I honestly don't believe you can.

Here's a good comparison...

This is a $150 Harlequin...

This is not...

Even though they're somewhat similar, am I the only one to see the big difference?

Man cresties around here go for 150, for a buckskin baby. I wish I lived in Southern Ontario. Personally I think that Anthonys harlequin above and the harlequin at http://www.geocities.com/crestedgecko/8.html are the two best looking cresties I have ever seen.

That harlequin (Emerson Sy's) is in a league of its own...it blows mine away. Animals like that are why I think the names should mean nothing in terms of value.

The pattern and color are both top notch and if you look carefully, it's sporting a nearly full pinstripe too. It's hard to notice the pinstripe, though, because the dorsal pattern is also white. The way you can tell that it's carrying the pinstripe gene, is by looking at the scales along the dorsal crest. On a pinstripe animal, the white scales are usually much larger than those on a non-pinstripe.

Yep...yours turned out nice. Babies that will eventually turn out nice can be had for $75-100, but there's no guarantees that they will be nice. I just thought that it was misleading to show someone a photo of a harlequin like my male, and then tell them that they can be had for $150.

I wish I had recent pics to show you guys. I really need a digital camera. I wouldn't sell my Harlequin for 150 and it's not even as nice as the above one. Stores like super pet sell Crested Gecko babies for 250 bucks. (Ontario- Hamilton/Burlington/Oakville)

Pet stores are rip offs to begin with so i wouldnt use them as a comparision, for example I seen a BP for $350 in a petstore.

And one more thing, Anthony I didnt mean you can get a gecko such as your for 150 but something similar like that as a baby, the colours may not be as impressive but none the less a harlequin anyway. Sorry for the confusion

No biggie Steve. I know you knew the difference. I just wanted to clear things up before I got an email saying something like "I'd like to get 1.2 of those black and orange harlequins. I know the price is $150 each, but do I get a discount if I buy a trio?"

You'd be amazed at the things people try to order. I post babies for sale and I get emails like "I'll take 1.2 of those baby Cresteds if you cover shipping." or "How much for a breedable female?"
