You're in St. Louis? Wow...with all these Canadians (now, I'll duck), I thought I was the only normal person here. (now I am really ducking) lol - Just messing with all of you Canadians!

KC is actually not even that far from you. It's more like 3 hours...2.5 in my car if I don't get stopped. lol - I go down to St. Louis quite a bit and I drive through there all the time.

In fact, I've got some reptile friends down there. I just did the show there in January too.

You should try making it to the KC Herp Society show sometime. The last one (two weeks ago) was loaded with Rhacodactylus....there were several Leachies, several Cresteds, tons of Gargoyles and even a few Chahoua. We also have some breeders that bring really really nice Corns, Leos and Beardies.

AHHHH you had to say Gargoyles didn't you!!!! LOL There are several speices of geckos i want but i honestly don't have the space for them right now, me and my man rent out a 2 room basement so we're kinda cramped right now with all the cages we have setup.

There is one more person from missiouri on here he posts in the venomous forum all the time.

Which st. louis expo did you do the one sponsored by the St. Louis Herp Society (machinest hall) or the one for Jim from A.R.C. I haven't went to one recently because the last time my boyfreind had to basicly pull me out of there cause i was drooling over one of the ball pythons. We are going to Jim's next expo at the end of May (just because it's right after my b-day.)

We did the show at Machinest Hall...by a Target, I think. It was actually in St. Charles, if I remember correctly. All I know is that it's put on by Patrick from Saurian Enterprises...they breed dart frogs.

The guy from St. Louis that I know is into retics, but he keeps some venom too. He's a fellow moderator over at the Bob Clark forums. There's actually a number of Missouri people over there.

Don't mind the opening page. It was the old site and we've got it set to forward to the one I did until we can get the domain name straightened out.

We (The KCHS) are actually going to be down in St. Louis a few weekends from now to get a behind the scenes tour of the STL Zoo's Herpetarium.

Oh yeah...I just remembered, I'm supposed to be talking to the guy (Jim) that runs the other St. Louis show today. One of my website clients referred him to me for some work he needs done.

BTW, You don't need much room to keep Cresteds or Gargoyles. I keep all of mine in plastic boxes. My breeding groups (up to 1.3 adults) are kept in 58 quart (24x16x12) Sterilite containers, which you can get for $4.00 at Wal-Mart.

The Zoo heh, Which currator is taking you on the tour??? If it's Jeff Etting your gonna have a great time!!! Last time i went there Jeff, my man, and myself had a 2-3 hour talk on naturalistic setups and parasites jeff really knows his stuff. The Herpetarium and the Big cats are my fave... Oh and you have to check out the new penguin exibit i hear it's a good one.

Yep machinest hall is by target out in st. charles (but i still consider it St. Louis), i thought the herp society set them up, but i could be wrong, i don't really pay to much attention cause it's all on the animals. Jim's just recently started doing shows again (since mid last year). Last time i talked with him he said he's going to start doing 4 shows a year. The last one i went to was PACKED (last sept.), that's the one were i wanted a ball python.

Do you know anyone in the area that makes some good rack systems??? LOL that's the only way i think i could even think about it.

Yep...it's Jeff. Jeff is a heck of a guy. He and I can go on forever talking about all the vipers and arboreal pythons, etc.

Also, i noticed your cages are rubbermainds with the snap tops, correct? They have the little grey pieces on each side that slide in and out to close or open the cage? Well i just got a couple of those for $15 each. They are 56.5L. What size are you using? How do you heat them? What is the ventilation? I love them already and i have yet to put anything into them! I'd love to know what you do. Also, You have egg crates in there, how do you keep them from not become moldy or falling apart with high humididty? Thanks!

LOL, sorry for double posting, but i just read the second page(i posted after reading the first page only) and you say you use 58 quart boxes? Mine are 60 U.S quarts and still not 2 ft long? But have the same height and width. Also, you said they were sterilites? Mine are rubbermaids and there were othere sterilites beside them but i saw no sterilites like these? Anyways, Thanks.

The Sterilites are model 1858. They're $3.97 at Wal-Mart. I use put them in a rack. The photo you saw was an old breeder setup from about 6 months ago.

The whole idea with the egg crates is that when they get moldy, you throw them away...not because they're pretty.

It talks about egg crates right on my website...you should read that section. It and the article that I have a link to will answer most of the questions you've asked and have yet to ask.

BTW, Cresties don't need high humidity. One light spraying per day is fine. You have to let it dry out during the day or you'll end up with a moldy cage and sick geckos.

Does anyone know how much those white gargoyle geckos generaly run? Those are amazing! Does anyone have a full body pic of one?

There is no "general" price because like I said, they're rare. By rare, I really mean hard to find. Breeders charge what they think they're worth, depending on the individual animal...and there's usually always someone willing to pay it.

Depending on the pattern, the color of the pattern and the intensity (the less visible the pattern, the better) of the "ghost appearance" they can range from $200 all the way up to $400 or even $500.

This one has a very feint orange and yellow striped pattern that is very rarely even visible. Since orange striped Gargoyles are fairly uncommon and ghosts are even more uncommon, this one is pretty unique. That puts it on the higher end of the spectrum. On the lower end of the spectrum, there are ghosts with a more noticeable black or brown normal (marble) pattern.

georgeous! Yes it does. Now are gargoyle geckos and crested geckos the same? What about eyelash geckos and crested geckos. I read somewhere where they kept interchanging the name and it confused the crap outta me.

Also since your a breeder do you have any pics of a simple set up for a baby/adult crested. I really love their looks and want to start some research on them. If not I understand.

Gargoyles are not the same as Crested Geckos. Gargoyles are R. auriculatus and Cresties are R. ciliatus.
