I am now owned by one Leopard Gecko named Crash. Trust me she's earned her name. She's all ready jumped off my counter onto my kitchen floor. My first instinct was to call the vet immediately, but she seemed to have no ill effects. In fact she tried to jump out of my hand and onto the counter. Granted this was a much shorter jump, but I caught her. She's tiny and I'm afraid I'll break her, but I know that in time I'll get use to her as she will me.
Thank you again for all your replies and information.

Another thing, start off with a younger chameleon, the earlier they get used to you the better.

True, I'd get nothing younger than 5-8 weeks old. I have gotten one at 3 weeks and one at 4 weeks and both died. Out of the 3 chams I got as babies, only 1 made it and I took the best care I possibly could have taken of them. One was a male veiled and one was a male jacksonii, the one that made it was my first one and its a female veiled. Beginner's luck I guess.

So yeah, my personal rule of thumb now is nothing less than 5 weeks old as far as chameleons go.

Yep I was talking about Neo a.k.a. @$$ munch or Mr. Pissy. Don't get me wrong this boy has some major "tude" but i still love and adore him. I couldn't see myself without him. He's just so fasanating!!!! Even my boyfriend that didn't care for him at first will sit and watch him move around for awhile.

A chameleons is definitely the harder one to care for. If you are just starting out, get one that is at least a year old. When they are younger than that they are hard to care for because they need exact amounts of vitamins. If they don't get those vitamins, they easily develope diseases like MBD (metabolic bone disease). And unless you can house it properly, I highly discourage you from getting one.
