I totally get the point....

like i said its not that big of deal with 3 snakes, but if he were to do it all the time every year selling 20-30 albino or whatever for that low below market than YES it would be a big deal. But im sure that isnt going to happen, because im sure he doesnt want to take that much of a loss, i know i wouldnt.

Also, I think it should be pointed out that KaHane is selling ONE boa for 900$... the rest are over 1000$. I'm not taking sides either, but it's not as though he's selling 30 babies for 900$ apeice, he's selling a relatively dull looking albino for a good price.

I agree with Het For Human & Zoe, one person selling a few albinos at a lower price will not lower the market price. I have been to several shows this years and saw people selling them for $800 American at one table and $1200 American at the very next table. The difference is ussually in the quality of the animal and like KaHane said pics of the litter go first and are priced higer. It seems like it goes in a cycle. First the prices are high after they are first born then a few months later when everyone has them available prices go down due to competition. Then this time of year when most are sold and they are harder to find prices go back up. I have had several breeders give me one price over the phone but then I go to a show and see there price is much higher because they are matching everyone elses price.

Hetforhuman you have a point but it should not matter if you have 2 or 10.JD as for albino boas as babies cost more come on they are worth double as sub-adult triple as adults you should know that and 800.00 -1200.00 us we are in canada not Usa.

I know you are in Canada, my point is that one breeder selling animals for less will not kill the market price. I didn't know we were discussing sub adults? You are right that sub adults sell for more. I was was just implying that the price fluctuates based on supply. When everyone has albinos for sale the price will go down and as they sell and not many are left they get bigger and sell for more. But some breeders get tired of holding animals and sell them for less to move them.

Hey all and all it is HIS right to sell for what ever he wants he bred them there HIS animals LOL now we can tell breeders what to sell for? It was a CHRISTMAS SALE get over it have you seen all the christmas sales out there right now???? most everything is 1/2 price why should reptiles be any different? I have had nothing but good dealings with KaHane.

I too will 2nd Red D's comment about spending more time worrying about your personal reputation than anything. If I had even a fraction as much "dirty laundry" as you Boa I would be doing my best to change & I definitely would not be bringing it up on an open forum. No I do not know you personally, but I do know many others personally that I trust that know you & for your sake I won't bring up anything I've heard about you & yes even though I'm on the other end of the country I have heard LOTS on multiple occasssions from multiple people. Whats it like to be the most popular guy on the Board Of Inquiry Forums?NUFF SAID!

OK ......first off Gonesnakee you should probably not have said what you said , Boas buisness is HIS buisness so hes pissed off that he paid alot more for a snake from the same clutch , you saying what you said only "Adds Fuel to The Fire" , you said you don't know him ! thats good , don't bring yourself in to this .

Yes , it is KaHanes right to sell for what he wants but i agree with Boa in the fact that that is a drastic price drop and "IF" it were to happen again the YES, KaHane would be stepping on peoples toes(not mine personaly) , so to speak.

Boa has every right to vent and express his opinions and views and NOONE IN THIS FORUM,SITE,INTERWEB ,whatever , has the right to tell him different ....now im not taking sides here ,as like Gonesnakee this is none of my buisness and as this is only "MY POINT OF VIEW" boa is a friend of mine and will remain that way .

Actually, at an average current exchange rate $800 US would be around $1064 CAN. Not that it really matters much I guess.......

What's this foolishness about ruining the market? It's called competition. Besides, any business in the world will purge old stock even if it means doing it at a loss. They have to do this because keeping old stock costs money to handle and store and in the case of livestock, to feed. So even if someone gets the same price six months into the season as they would have at the start it's still a loss because they've had to pay to maintain that animal that whole time. Sometimes it's better to sell sooner for less than later for more. Only the guy selling can decide how much and how soon his price will drop and this will be based on how much it is costing him to sit on the stock.
