Why?????
what is wrong with using rubbermaids?
and what do you mean no ventilation??? LMAO
you drill holes in the sides man. thats all you need.
And cheaper is better as long as you can make it work.
It sure beats the hell out of using glass aquariums.

Spoken like a true novice. These are the type of people that think their snake will enjoy life more if the cage looks better to the keeper!!
All I have to say to that is bwaaaa haaaaa haaaa!!!!!

I don't like the look of rubber maids, but I do use them for some of my snakes. I also use custom melamine cages that I can see clearly in and some aquariums that have a "natural looking" setup.

I think that is a nice set up. Nothing wrong with saving some coin and still providing all the essentials. Good work

But im sure that should last you quite awhile man.

I went To Home Depot last night and got a 60 quart for $8 and a light fixture (incandecent I think), but I was wondering how did you attatch it to the RubberMaid Dan??
The back of the light I bought has mounting hole so I'm guessing just measure equal holes for screws to mount the light.
But yes I am also concerned with a snake rubbing upagainst it and possibly knocking it off or burning its belly.
What's the best way to avoid this?

I just used two bolts and nuts Like the ones in the pic and drilled two holes in the plastic. The light i have in there dosent seem to get that hot its warm to the tought but i dont think its warm enough in any way to burn the snake. So Far it seems to be working out really well for me.
