i followed this link and it stated that the largest BCC, it said boa constrictor, every caught was 18.5. I assume they were referring to the bcc

Average? Definitely not. Real? Definitely not! There was a claim in a book written back in the 60's of a BCC caught and killed in Trinidad that measured 18.5'. This actually turned out to be a misidentified anaconda However it is still floating around as truth in some instances (such as on that zoo page).

I don't think our BCI is a record, but she's certainly a handful at 8'. We don't handle her alone, she can do some damage if she wanted. thats only 8' and 3 or 4 years old.

Some of you may have seen a pic of Babe the Snake that I posted before, and I was asked if I had one that showed her full length. Here it is. The man in the middle of the photo is my step-dad amd he is 6'4" tall. Babe has the last 2 feet wrapped around my sisters waist and leg. This is the largest BCI I have ever seen.
If you figure that a persons arm span is the same as their height, and it usually is, that makes her at least 9' or more. I was mistaken on the previous post when I said that she was close to 14'. My mother's wishful thinking! Still a big snake.

Wow, that is most definitely a big snake! And a BEAUTY too, I might add. Yeah, I'd believe 9 or 10 feet for that big girl...

Well 7 to 9 feet is big as far as I'm concerned. A BCI is probably the largest species that I'd ever have. And, those BCI's are so beeyootiful

I'm AnniesMom's mom, and Babe the snake was my baby for almost 30 years. All my kids grew up with her(him) around. The best natured reptile I've ever had, or seen. She (he) died June 6, 2002 after 27 years of educating preschoolers, primary kids, kids in hospitals, kids in outreach centers, and many adults along the way. And yes I exaggerated her length somewhat. She couldn't actually have been longer than 12 feet, but the only way to measure them accurately is when they're dead, and I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
I'm glad to see she's (he's) still educating people. Miss you Babe.
