High school is awful. Its nothing but social clics, and no one takes their education seriously because no one really wants to be there. So all everyone does is find someone lower on the social ladder than themselves, just so they could pick on that person, and feel better about themself. The only class I had in highschool that I enjoyed, and walked away from with some knowledge was woodshop, and now that has been cancelled in most schools, along with most other arts programs.
College on the other hand, that was the best 4.5 years of my life. I wish I could go back. Everyone is there because they want to be. There are no gangs in college, no one picking on each other, everyone just hangs out with the people they are friendly with, and leaves everyone else alone. (except for the immature freshmen) If you get a chance to go away to college, do it, its one of the best experiences ever.
Man I feel so old. I think im 23,......I gotta stop losing track of when my birthdays are

Highschool was a war of good and bad. I think those are the years that really shape your personality for your future. I loved it and oh god, I have nightmares of it as well. Choose your friends wisely and for the right reasons- don't care what other people think and stand up for yourself, however, do it in a respectful manner- it'll go a long way. But on the otherside- have fun, get on the teachers good sides, and find a pad of hallpasses- use them at your discression to make wading thru the halls easier!

Oh yeah- and college, that has the potential to be the same as highschool, but everyone is bigger, has more hair, can care less more often, and can party a whole lot better.
PS- the super popular kids in highschool- aren't going to be all that popular in college- don't feel you need to kiss their @$$es!

My high school was like what J.J. describes, until I switched to an alternative school which had about as much structure as college. I loved alternative school.

You can't use punctuation either.
It's OK. I went to highschool and college, and everything about my writing sucks.

Ours starts on the 2nd, too. Lol, I feel like a small town girl now... our school only has about 750. But it still feels pretty cramped sometimes!

Well im going to high school this year, sept 2nd after labour day. It seems like everyone that lives someone where else has different times of getting out of school and stuff, weird, but i look forward to going to high school, hope its gonna bejust as fun as when i was in grade 6, i loved it cause there was only 20 kids in that class(it was a small school) and most f them are still my friends. Well good luck to me when i go to high school

HIgh school was a lot of fun. The only thing I regret about it is not taking physics. Now, after a university degree, I have to go back to the basics and take physics with a bunch of first years. All they do is complain about the structure, thinking they can beat it if they complain long enough.
Don't make the mistake I did. If you want any sort of job in sciences TAKE PHYSICS. Even though it may not be a requirement for a degree, it is for grad school and now its biting me in the a$$!
And something my dad always says to me.... "once you have a degree, diploma, whatever, NO ONE can take that away from you. You always have it. Even if you forget everything you learned, it is still on paper and it belongs to you."
So tough it out. Smile. Have as much fun in high school as possible without ruining your life or your parents life. Believe me, once you're out, there is no more time for reckless, irresponsible fun.

jeeesus!! 4000 pupils?! nicky?
eep! ours was only just 1000, and it was WAY cramped!
i hated high school!! 7 periods, about 45 mins each. one break for 20 mins at 11 i think and 1 hours break at lunch at 12.50, cant remember, it was about 16 months ago now! i LOVE college though! i love how its totally unstructured and your days vary from like 9 till 5pm or 12-3pm.... lots of breaks, lots of sitting around campus and lots of table football!! lol
