Thanks for the kind words everyone.
White lips AREN'T that bad. This "bad attitude" stigma really sucks.
Sure they aren't corns, but if you've got thick skin and a gentle touch, they're handlable. Sure, Natla (older female) has bitten me under the chin and all up my arm, but she's still a sweety.
I can't wait til they trust me enough to "talk" to me.

Nice. I really like the face on that girl. It almost looks like she has a bit of irridescent shine. How big do those get? ~TR~

I believe white-lips get to be about 10 feet. All the more reason to get the tame ones if you can.

Grant, so far so good, she ate for me, so I am pleased and she is sooooo cute being so small and all.
WLP's @ 10ft!? Oh momma I want one of those.
Six feet I'd say is close to what they get to, although, the black phase (which is a different species) gets quite big.

The Black phase is not considered a different species nor sub-species. Just the "southern form" of the white-lip.

oh ya by the way.....
Gold phase also known as the Northern or Momase race grows to between 3.5-6 feet.
Black phase also known as the Southern or Papuan race grows to approx. 8 feet.
I think a 10 footer of either race is a little unrealistic, but you never know

From what little I've found on the white lip the northern version will max around 7 for a female and the southern version will max around 9 for a female. They stay rather thin, are very quick and are reputed to be the fastest strikers out there in terms of sheer speed. I just got a young supposedly c.b. gold phase white lip and am looking and specific care/housing information. The guy I purchased her from tells me their aditude is akin to the retic's.
They are absolutly beautiful with that black head and iridesence of their skin. Supposedly they tend to be night feeders, like to perch some and tend to be a little shy. So far so good, my 7 year old managed to startle mine this morning and rather than strike she simply backed up and made a run for it.

White lips are very beautiful pythons, but are not for everyone. They need much humidity and they won't think twice before the strike and tag. They have a strong feeding response, all they "see" is thermal and figure, moving in front of their heads. Next thing they do is..strike. I believe they will never be trustable to handle.

For whats its worth my 7 year old removed mine from her tank yesterday and put her in the feeding box. After being transported from Fla, sitting in a small display container for several hours, being transported again and placed into a entirely new enviroment.... she fed. Then after letting her gel for 15 min. she was removed from the feeding box and placed back into her cage. Very calm and easy going the entire time.
I know sooner or later one of us is going to get struck but, so far so good. The WLP python seems calmer than my kids Cali King when it comes to handling time.
