Just buy from a frozen supplier and repackage them yourself.


There is one dealer I know of that vacuum seals them, but their prices are way too expensive for many to consider.
And I will not mention the companies name due to the business ethics shown repeatedly to many members of the herping community.

could...but that wouldn't be nearly as good. I wouldn't know when the supplier froze them either.

like any businesss, if a frozen supplier had stock sitting for months he'd probably go under rapidly. I talk to the owner of Big Cheese on a fairly regular basis, and he sells about 6,000,000 mice a month across the country(says one reseller he sells to buys 250,000 mice a month). Most likely if you buy from any large f/t company what mice you get will have been frozen less than a week.

I've bought from <a href="http://www.rodentpro.com">Rodentpro</a> several times and have always been very happy with the quality and freshness of my purchase. They don't come vacuum sealed but in heavy-duty freezer bags, which I actually prefer so I can then portion out what I'm going to thaw each time.

Now, granted, I only have four animals and a limited amount of freezer space, so I never order more than about 5-6 mos worth of food at a time.
