Impossible for me to answer. I don't think anyone should really answer unless they've kept all the subspecies mentioned. I mean, just because you have one type and you bred it once, it automatically becomes your favorite? On what basis? Its just an unfair poll.
Before I kept any Carpets, I saw pictures of them and Jungles just seemed unreal to me. So exotic-looking and the colors were just unreal. But after being around Bredl's at Don's house and seeing them for extended periods they've grown on me as well. Diamonds are way cool, but until the whole DP syndrome thing in North America is worked out, I don't want to get into them. Coastals are neat because they get so huge and they have the Jaguar-thing going for them, but normals are a little too bland for me. Rough-scales are cool because there's only been 4 sighted, but they are ugly as sin.
But I won't vote because I've only bred one ssp. I think that's very uninformed. But if you showed me a picture and I didn't know anything about snakes, I'd probably think that Jungles and Diamonds are the coolest-looking snakes on the planet.

Jeff.... Rough scales aren't ugly! I think they kind of look like a rusty GTP. Pretty cool that there are only two breeding pairs in captivity though. I wonder what kind of price they will fetch if they ever hit the commecial pet trade market....

Hey Jeff, I've seen you down Irians before.
And sure I think it's a fair poll. Of course one would be partial to the snake they've owned, but wouldn't they have owned their favourite?
Anyway one's vote can be based on anything... looks, price, good experience, bad experience etc. Now if I had said "Which carpet ssp do you find the tamest", that wouldn't be okay. But I'm sure many people have a favourite SSP based on experience, pictures, bla bla bla.

I'm not downing ANY ssp. There are good qualities and bad qualities of all the subspecies. And I have owned IJ. I just chose not to collect a dozen specimens and breed them while they are still being WC. But I'm not downing them. Not at all. I love all snakes.
