Right click, check the properties. All the credits are there.
The mere fact that you are able to track down the source of the pictures has little to do with proper crediting. It takes time and resources to be able to provide high-quality photgraphs and diagrams, with the product remaining property of the person who put them up. These pics are not public domain, and thus require permission to be used on other sites. Most people will certainly authorize the use of their pics for educational purposes, however, this does require a bit of common courtesy and deceny on your part, which is clearly lacking by posting those pics without proper crediting or authorization.

Quote:
All of those sites are provided for people like us to find, and enjoy. If you or anyone viewing this post want to have a look around the sites I referenced pics from that means I did everyone a favor, hosters and poster alike.
While these sites are certainly provided for educational purposes, it is entirely different to simply take these pictures and post them on another site without any sort of crediting and/or authorization. You're certainly not doing anyone a favor by using their images without authorization.

Quote:
AS IF ANY OF THE SITES I "STOLE" PICS FROM ARE GONNA CALL UP SSNAKESS.COM AND COMPLAIN ABOUT A FEW PEOPLE LOOKING AT THEIR PICS
Probably not, but if they would choose to do so, they would have a legal basis for it, which could produce a liability issue for the site.

Quote:
That would be kinda like stabbing yourself in the back. You're acting like I referenced porn from a members section
Actually, it would be make perfect sense for someone to complain, as their images are being used without proper authorization or even simple crediting. If you would indeed reference porn, you would subject both this site and yourself to further liability, as this site does not have the proper disclaimers for adult content, and likely prohibits the posting of such in its user terms.

The issue is not whether or not you should post images with educational content. Worthwhile contributions are always welcome, and are the purpose of these types of communication media. The problem lies in the fact that you are posting images that are other people's property without authorization or proper crediting. A simple e-mail requesting permission and a proper credit are usually all it takes to post other people's photos. It is obvious that neither were obtained/provided in this case.

Regards,

it is particularly frowned upon when it has the copywrite symbol such as Wolfgang Wuster's picture you used. I for one take great pride in my photographs and would be furious if I saw them posted elswhere without credit or permission. It is a courtasy and a legallity. I have already had many people try to take credit for one of my photos. After many emails, those photos are offline. As a general rule, if I post someone elses pic, I will either email to get specific permission or at the very least write is cuch as :
This photo is from Joe Blow at www.joeblow.com

Just my 2 cents.

post as much liftriff as you want. lol . . Just none of the pics cause SSNAKESS.COM doesn't have the propper disclaimers! Anyhow, that story is a little sketchy at parts, and the second story doesn't load due to code reasons. It'll be fixed soon enough, that's the Gem though, and it's not up

I think that some are confused as to how much I think. I would like to say on my behalf,

1. I'm not claiming any of those pics are mine, or taken by me. I found them on the net and thought this was a good forum to have them seen. All properties are their. I'm not trying to sell them either.

2. I didn't realize people here would get offended I posted those pics without permission. Next time I will get permission, and/or credit.

3. "The internet is a double edged sword" so don't cut yourself.

4. I grew up around crack heads. In Toronto most of the projects are hiddedn in nicer neighbourhoods. There were people stabbed and thrown down stairs in my highschool. Home invaders tied people up and stole their things. etc. Toronto's got the same crap any big city has. Just cause Micheal Moore says we all live in peace and don't lock out doors, doesn't mean it is true. Alot of crime around here goes unsolved. I'll post a pic of my old neighbourhood for yall.

5. I am DR POON! I guess I could be considered Reverand Poon too! But I'm not going to preech here

Will probably will double your hits lol so you will get like 4 instead of 2 lol.I too wonder were the ghetto you live in is(I too live in T.O.) In a very small appt Guess I missed it but now I will look more closely when I am out and about.Too bad you are not accepting email and or private messages(I would fill you in on the Rev but chances are you would not listen anyway)You see he removed his posts (he is a poster of value here and a hot keeper as well)I would hope you do not cause him to remove any more posts( or the posts of any other hot keepers here either) As I had stated previously (In your stumbling around do not wake the dragon)Give credit were credit is due,I would ask you do you know the locality of the cobra you posted?Let me in on it cause I think I know were it is from.

Real quick on linking photo's from other sites. When you do this, you are using that site's bandwidth. Those site's are paying for the bandwidth we are using to see the pics. This is generally frowned upon. Unfortunately, most sites do not know how to prevent this.

Just my 2cts.

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind is closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar." -- Julius Caesar

As you can see it is credited to the speaker, and will give you a lesson as to were the saying double- edged sword orignated.

Then looking darkly upon Hektor swift-footed Achilleus answered: I cannot forgive you. As there are no trustworthy oaths between men and lions, so there can be no love between you and me, one or the other must fall before then to glut with his blood Ares the god who fights under the shields's guard. Remember every valour of yours, for now the need comes hardest upon you to be a spearmen and a bold warrior. There shall be no more escape for you. You will pay in a lump for all those sorrows of my companions you killed in your spear's fury."

Only in your own mind

I hope your last name isn't Bates(being unmarried)using correct english english terms you would be refered to as master(mister after marrage only)So if you could be considered a reverend you probably have a cult following. I would recomend being aware of the cool aid(If past history is any example)I have a bit of preperation h to rub on your head (so you can get through the door)

Dis the Rev you dis me
