Looks like a small red bellied black snake (member of the tiger snake family) an elapid and very poisonus I wonder of any of the folks on this site who know about aussie hots could tell us what this snake was.Kind of looks like one I saw on tv before

Beautiful snake, Gorgeous... looks like a mini indigo snake. I feel really bad that snake lost it's life that way... Poor snakey

Yeah its a red-bellied black and it is poisonous...however relative to some of the snakes in Australia its not too dangerous..however you still don't want to get bit.
poor thing...he was probably just looking for some place warm to sleep and ended up being a computer fan stopper.
