I noticed that your fluorescent bulb is exposed in the cage. It would probably be a good idea to pick up a fluorescent tube protector/guard/cover. They are clear plastic sleeves that the tubes fit in. You usually buy a 4' cover and cut if so that it covers the entire tube except for just the little prongs on the end. Will prevent accidental electrocution if the snake stretches from end to end on the tube (the exposed metal bits on each side) and will contain glass during an accidental breakage. And they only run about $4.

Haven't heard of electrocution/breakage concerns before, only burn concerns. Trouble is covering the bulb would mean no UVB would get through. I know snakes don't need UVB, but I have read there is evidence they benefit from it, plus the bulb is a lot less hot thanks to how the UVB is fairly low in heat output. Plus in it's current position relative to the branches, Ryu would have a hard time stretching from one end to the other even if the bulb somehow did break.
