Re: Herping Videos and photos 2019
Yes, I need tips too xD
I can never seem to find them. I know they are out there... but they hide so well.

Re: Herping Videos and photos 2019
Great photos and videos, as always.
Veronica, aren't you in NC? They have some great species over there (two that come to mind are the carolina pygmies and scarlet kings). I'd love to go herping out in the carolinas one day. That area has a lot to offer.

Yep, I'm in NC. Unfortunately, the day I was in the Sandhills (where pygmies are found pretty often) I was really sick so I didn't go on the hike... and the group saw two lol, and a pine snake. I guess I'll have to go back.

Thanks!
It depends on weather and temps, but I mostly just get out there and look a lot. Flipping cover is great if there is any. Edges where different habitats meet is a good place to look. Really, I do different things depending on the species I'm hoping to see.

Found three timbers yesterday. One didn't want to be photographed.

Very cool snakes! I love how we can see the rattle of the second one in the photo.

Those are fantastic! I've still never seen a rattlesnake, but one day I will.

I appreciate the compliments, but my footage and orations definitely both need a lot of work. But, I figure the more videos/info out there showing snakes in a good light, the better. So, I publish my amateur ramblings.
